Nominations open for faculty leadership development program
The Office of the Provost is accepting faculty nominations for the 2023-24 Big Ten Academic Alliance Leadership Program.
The ALP is a professional development program designed to address the challenges of academic administration at major research universities. Specifically, faculty with demonstrated leadership ability and administrative promise, and often those who have some successful administrative experience, are encouraged to apply.
Nominations/applications for the ALP fellowship must be electronically submitted no later than March 6 by 5 p.m. with the following materials:
- A complete curriculum vitae.
- Applicant letter of interest.
- Letter of support from one’s department head, endorsed by the dean.
Applicants should submit nomination materials to Susan Grasham, sgrasham@purdue.edu, in the Office of the Provost. When submitting, please title the document “faculty last name_ALP Nomination.”
Fellows are selected based on their demonstrated potential for and interest in university administration. The 2023-24 prospective cohort will be recommended to the provost by a panel of former Big Ten Academic Alliance Fellows, and selected participants will be announced in mid-April.
Applicants are encouraged to carefully consider the time commitment to the program before applying. The ALP meets weekly on campus and actively participates in programwide seminars throughout the year.
A roster of former Big Ten Academic Alliance Fellows and additional information about the program can be found here.
Questions should be directed to Susan Grasham, sgrasham@purdue.edu.
